Tweed Valley: Glentress and Innerleithen
The Tweed Valley Forest Park has a massive reputation for some of the finest mountain biking in the UK and beyond. There are rolling hills and enough singletrack to keep you challenged for days, with big country views.
Glentress near Peebles has been voted best MTB centre and is a mecca for mountain bikers,and is home to the award winning Hub Cafe and bike shop where friendly staff serve great food and service your bike and offer bike hire. Trails are rideable all year round and are graded green,blue,red and black according to your ability and there are family trails. There are skills areas for novices and jumps etc. for the more experienced.
Just 5 minutes away is Traquair Forest in Innerleithen.This has the famous downhill routes and some new black graded XC routes.
There also miles of drove roads and tracks and paths to explore in the surrounding hills.
On top of this there are fantastic walking trails and lots of interesting villages to visit -the Tweed Valley Forest Park is a must for all those who love the great outdoors.
Glentress has recently added even more novice trails suitable for children and novice bike riders. Trails for everybody to admire the Forest views and views over Peebles,whilst having fun.
